Monday again!!

Monday Minute

What was your "oh no, I'm turning into my Mom/Dad" moment?
Probably when I hear myself saying things I swore I would never say, "Don't make me stop this car", "Do it because I said so" Please let me brush your hair so you don't look like a ragamuffin " Oh man thats scary !!!! I'm sure it will only get worse as my girls get even older.

What current commercial do you find the most annoying/funny?

I don' t have to watch too many commercials anymore with a DVR. So I cannot think of any right now.

If you could only eat one color food for the rest of your life what would it be?

I would probably say red that gives you some options, apples, strawberrys, pasta with red sauce, pizza with red sauce. Not sure if those last 2 would be cheating.

What is your current Facebook/Myspace/Twitter status?

Only on facebook and it currently says "can't wait to try brick oven pizza on the new outdoor fireplace, hope it comes out good"

F, Marry, Kill from this list below. Women pick from the men, men pick from the women.

  • Snookie (from Jersey Shore), Ellen DeGeneres, Betty White

  • Regis Philbin, Justin Bieber, Perez Hilton

  • I would have to say none. Justin Bieber is a cutie but a little to young for a 32 yr old. Regis is to old, and Perez Hilton wouldn't do it for me come on he totally swings for the other team.

    Shopping trip

So as you can see I finally got a header. I'm super excited. Thank God for my husband I never would of gotten one if it was up to me. I really envy people who can make really cool things on the computer. My hubby makes really nice webpages he made a family page for us, (it needs to be updated but still cool nonetheless). Check it out www.simonds.me Next he gets to help me make a webpage for my girlscout troop LOL.

Ok enough about my blog page.

Yesterday I took the girls out clothes shopping for school. My younger one didn't really need anything since she gets all her sisters handmedowns, and she just got lots of new outfits from her B-day. But anyway my older daughter needs a whole new wardrobe she has grown up so much in the last couple of months. So off to the store we go.

This was the first year that K wanted to pick out her own clothes. Usually she is just happy with whatever I picked out. Not this year she was so excited to see something that she liked. "mom look at this, this is cool all the older girls wear things like this". Now she doesn't mean high school girls with all their stuff hanging out she means like the cool 5th graders. LOL. The joy on her face was priceless. Shes really into trendy this year, peace signs, lots of color, skinny jeans, tall boots, anything from Justice ( a clothing store not sure if they are everywhere). It was really fun shopping this year. We got LOTS of stuff and got really good deals :) Of course there was a couple of things in there for S too.

SO now we go home with all of our goods. On the ride home she is totally excited to show her dad her buys. So right after dinner she put on a "runway show" It was super cute. S got in on it to showing off her clothes that she got for her B-day. My hubby and I had to sit on the couch and watch the show. She strutted her stuff and worked it. LOL I remember how exciting it was to do the same exact thing when I was her age. Just shear joy of showing off her finds. It made me realize that very soon she won't want me to go shopping with her, she'll just ask for the credit card. So I enjoyed every second of out outing and can't wait to do it again soon. Take every second you can with kids before you know it they will be grown and we will have no one to go shopping with.

And this has been my "bigger picture moment." This week being hosted by Hyacynth over at Undercover Mother.

    Pet peeves!

So I found this link on this blog it looks like fun so hear goes!

Here's how you play. Grab my button, make a post, tell me about your "three things" and Link Up!
That Simple!!! Right? Right... so play with me! Make me smiile! : -D
This weeks Tuesday Three is simple... Not Long, No Stories, Just Basic!
Stories are always Welcomed though!!! I love them!

Every woman, okay maybe not every woman, but 99.999% of woman are "Anul" [as me and my mother call it] about certain things happening around the house. Maybe it's Laundry piled up, or Towels on the floor, or maybe it's The Toliet Paper goes upwards, not Down-wards like my mother says...
Share three things that maybe your kids, your better half, or maybe you do it that drives you BONKERS!!!!
In other words, share your top three pet peeves around the house

    1. When my husband and my kids put their clothes on the top of the hamper instead of inside. I mean really is it that hard to lift the top and drop the clothes in... So they end up all over the floor, thats the point of a hamper to hide the dirty clothes.

    2. The cupboards need to be closed!! ALways!!!!!! I can always tell what my hubby is getting because i can follow the trail of open doors on the cupboards. Not sure why this bothers me so much but it drives me nuts!!!

    3. Shoes, my girls have lots of pairs of shoes, boots, flip flops, sneakers, and everything in between. When we come in the house there is a place to put them behind the door. But they NEVER make it there not sure how but they end up all over the house. So when its time to go out they can't find any shoes that match!!! It is SO frustrating because if they just put them where they go as soon as they take them off we would never have that problem So we are working on this!!!!

So come on people you know you all have household pet peeves lets hear them :)

    off switch?

I am really tired but just cannot sleep tonight!! I hate when my mind is going a mile a minute when it should be turning off so I can sleep.

I had a really fun day out a friends boat today! Its always fun hanging out with people you really get a long with. It also doesn't hurt that our hubbys get a long!! We had a big birthday party this weekend for my youngest daughter, it was a blast. ALL of our favorite people were there (except for my daughters fav. friend who was on vaca., we missed him!) It was great day not to hot or cold, good food, good conversation, I think everyone had a good time. After the kids went to bed the party continued, it was really nice. We had 14 people sleep at my house there were people everywhere. Out of town family, friends, and local friends(LOL)

Then of course comes all the cleanup :( I was so beat on Sun the day after the party. Then we were out today, then an argument with my husband!! GRRR sometimes man I tell ya! Anyways all of this stuff must be the reason I can't turn my brain off.

Its bouncing about things i need to do and other things that are going on like
    laundry
    clean the house
    upload pics
    trying to redesign my blog
drama i have to deal with!!!!! (I am NOT a fan of drama) and i feel like lately its been more and more, with friends, and home, and everything in b/w.
Oh man i could go on but do you really care? I just wish i had a turn off switch!!!!!!

Well I am off to try to read and hope that that does it and I can sleep. i apologize for the rambling tonight.

    Sweet dreams.

Today i am sad and more than a little angry!

I found out today that my baby has Lyme Disease :( So needless to say today is a stressful day for me!

Now I will tell you the story....

About a year ago she woke up with a rash on her arm, (the typical bullseye), so I took her to the Dr. We had just moved to this state so this was the first time we were seeing this dr. They looked at it and told me it was a spider bite. I asked if he thought it could be Lyme, we were just living in the woods. He tells me NO give her Benedryl if the rash goes away then it is not Lyme. So I believe him give her the meds, and it does fade, but not go away. The Dr. calls a couple of days later to find out how she is,I tell him the rash faded and eventually went away with the meds but does he think we should test her for Lyme anyways. He says NO NEED its not Lyme!

So now a couple of months go by with no symptoms then she starts to get these really high fevers like 103-104 for days!!!!!! I take her to another dr. in the same practice she says its a virus it will go away! goes away but comes back in a couple of days, back to the drs again, this time they test for UTI sure enough its positive! go through a round of meds, but comes back again, another round of meds!! So I mention the bite again should we do a blood test? NO its just a UTI. I felt so bad for my baby going through this being sick and there is nothing I can do to help.

So at this point I have had it so I switch pediatricians. Now at this point she is complaining of her legs aching pretty often. Go to them tell them the whole story. They say ok lets test for UTI again sure enough its positive ANOTHER round of meds. I again mention the bite should she be tested? NO its just a UTI or a virus no need. AGGGGG so angry.

I switch Dr. again, this time I tell her the whole story again, she says if you think we should test her then lets. Sure enough yesterday the test came up positive for Lyme!! So the poor kid has had it over the period of a year and a half and they had never even tested her. I am LIVID!! I am with my kids 24/7 a dr. only sees them every 6 months. I think I know my kid better then them but they didn't listen! Finally I found one who listened to me and didn't think i was overreacting.

I have had a feeling in my gut that something was wrong!! But I believed these professionals and what they have been telling me. I was sadly mistaken. I totally feel like this is my fault I should of made them test her when I had a gut feeling about it.

Now we will try the 3 weeks of antibiotics. But I feel that she needs to see a specialist. it was not diagnosed for a long time. I know there can be long term effects from not getting treated soon enough. I hope that because she is a kid she is more resilient and can heal easier then adults. I am just praying that there will be no long term damage done to my poor baby! I feel like a horrible mother :(

I know that I should be thankful that I know what is wrong with her and that it can be treated, but I am her mom and of course I am VERY concerned. I know there are kids out there that have it A LOT worse off then my baby. So lets all send positive thoughts or prayers to those kids out there that need some extra lovin!
