Lazy Sunday? yeah right!

Sunday already where did the week go? I had friends over last night to just hang out and have some pizza cooked on the brick oven outside, and of course jello shots :) It is so nice to have good friends to spend time with.

Today I am hosting a Girl Scout get together for my troop at my house. Its going to be the perfect weather. 87 and dry. Excited to tell the girls about all the fun things I have planned for this upcoming year! I just can't believe that everything is starting up again. My life has become super busy really quick. Time to go get a big dry erase calendar so I can keep track of everything.

Wish I could just have a lazy Sunday. Whatever happened to those?? Oh right I had kids :)

Second grade

My daughter started 2nd grade today! I truly cannot believe she is already almost 8 years old and in 2nd grade!! She totally is getting big. She doesn't look like my little girl anymore, she looks so grown up. This makes me a little sad.

Gone are the days of me picking out her clothes to wear to school. She spent awhile last night picking out just the perfect outfit for the first day. The right shirt, leggings, skirt, and of course the accessories the peace scarf, silly bands, the right shoes, and earrings. I didn't think this started this young. Last year she just wore what I told her. Not this year she has her own style which she has informed is the "rocker style"

I foresee many arguments in the morning picking out clothes. I need to go buy one of those weekly hanger organizers then she can pick out 5 outfits on Sun. so we can avoid the fights.

I hope she is still as excited to go to school in 4 months as she was today.

My poor Dog!

We had my dog spayed 2 days ago, I know this is good for her health and will be better in the long run. But what a process. I felt so bad dropping her her.

I went and picked her up of course she was super excited to see me and the kids. She is a crazy dog lots of energy. But i figured oh she just had surgery she will want to rest. Yeah not so much! We weren't even home 10 minutes and she popped one of her stitches :( So back to the Vet we go. They put in 2 staples (ouch) and kept her for the day. I picked her up again and she wanted to be crazy still, so I did what anyone would do I drugged her. (its ok the vet said i could give her Benedryl to help her be a little sleepy) Put her in her crate and let her rest.

She did really well last night. We let her out after the kids went to bed and she just rested on the floor. This morning too she stayed out for a little bit but started to get worked up so back to the crate she went!!

This is a lot harder then I thought it would be. I will glad once she heals. I know thats sounds terrible but I hate seeing her like this. I just want it back to normal. Dogs are so much work.. I love her and shes part of our family but a lot of work.

Anyways enough of my complaining.

Disney World!!!! We leave in 5 weeks :))

Where has the summer gone!!

I can't believe that summer is over!

At the beginning of the summer it felt like I had so much time, now as this was the last weekend before school starts up for Kylie I can't believe its over!

We have had a good summer! We also have a great fall coming. Disney World here we come!!!!!!!! HAlloween, apple picking, pumpkin picking, apple pies, jeans and sweatshirt weather. I am so excited!

But I also am a little sad that my baby is going to start preschool I REALLY don't know where the time has gone, shes not my baby anymore. I know that she will love it and have so much fun!!!!!

I hope the weather changes from the rain today so we can enjoy the last couple days of summer with friends and doing a couple of fun things.

Our day trip!

This past Saturday My husband and I took the girls to NYC for the day. We have wanted to go for awhile but we finally said lets just go! What a fun day. We hoped the train and took the 2 hour ride to the city. This was the first time the girls had been on a train, they loved it.

Once we got there we walked and checked out Times Square, The Toys R Us there is amazing.


They loved the ferris wheel with all the Dif cars. We didn't actually ride because the line was like an hour long. My younger daughter LOVED the the full size dinosaur he was really cool! Our next stop after hitting up some more stores was Battery Park to check out the Staute of Liberty (we were going to take the ferry over but at the last minute the girls decided NAh we don't want to go see that!) Oh well I guess they need to be a little older to appreciate it anyways. So we hopped back on the subway (I swear the kids liked this better than anything LOL)


Next we went and seen ground zero. Then had lunch/dinner. Finally to the best store in all of NY (according to my girls.) The American Girl Store.
I have to say this place was pretty amazing. There were girls with their dolls everywhere. You can get your dolls hair done at the beauty salon, make a special t-shirt for you and your doll, a doll hospital, a cafe where you can eat with your doll, its just crazy. So guess whats already on my kids christmas list??? The girls walked around in awe.


After that we went to China Town, I wish i had time to shop but the kids just wanted to see it and go back home. It had been a long day.


Finally our day had come to an end and it was time to go home!

We had a great day! I can't wait to go back, but next time we go we are going without kids :)

New York is a great city everyone should visit at least once. There's def. no other place like it.

Monday minute and some Blog hops

If you could have plastic surgery, would you? If so, what would you get done?
I would have a tummy tuck and a boob lift. After 2 kids things are not where they should be.

I cannot touch cotton. It is like fingers on a chalkboard to me.

Oh god that is way to much thinking in the morning.

not sure my hubby would like me to tell the whole world, but about twice a week.sometimes less and sometimes more.

A moms fear

Some sad memories have come back to me today. A friend of mine had a miscarriage:( This is such a sad thing. Every women feels for a mom who looses her child in this way, but if you have gone through it it really hits home.

I have been through this but it was more than 7 years ago. I am not going to go into details but it was not good. It was a really terrible experience. I would never wish it on any women ever!!!

Even after all this time it will sometimes surface. I know now that there was a reason for it. that it was just not meant to be at that time. But it is still hard you wonder was it something you did, or didn't do, you wonder what would that baby be like? a boy or a girl? It is so hard to have these sad thoughts!

I think you have to move on, except that it was a terrible thing, but go on. I am thankful everyday for the two little healthy girls that I have. They are truly a gift!

So today my thoughts go out to any women who has gone through this, especially my friend who is still grieving, my heart goes out to her <3

What was your "oh no, I'm turning into my Mom/Dad" moment?
Probably when I hear myself saying things I swore I would never say, "Don't make me stop this car", "Do it because I said so" Please let me brush your hair so you don't look like a ragamuffin " Oh man thats scary !!!! I'm sure it will only get worse as my girls get even older.


What current commercial do you find the most annoying/funny?
I don' t have to watch too many commercials anymore with a DVR. So I cannot think of any right now.

If you could only eat one color food for the rest of your life what would it be?
I would probably say red that gives you some options, apples, strawberrys, pasta with red sauce, pizza with red sauce. Not sure if those last 2 would be cheating.

What is your current Facebook/Myspace/Twitter status?
Only on facebook and it currently says "can't wait to try brick oven pizza on the new outdoor fireplace, hope it comes out good"

I don't think they are sexy but my hubby has one and my dad has had FOREVER so I guess it would be weird if I didn't see a mustache, but sexy probably not.

2. What's the last concert you've been to?
Don't laugh but New Kids on the Block last year. It was like being 10 all over again, great time with old friends:)

3 What was your favorite 80's sitcom?
I would have to say Punky Brewster I wanted to wear cool clothes her so bad. LOL those bandana's around her leg too funny.

4. Were you named after anyone?
My middle name is the same as my mom.

5. When you buy new clothes, do you wash before wearing?
Sometimes depends if it is stiff or smells funny. But i do wash my kids clothes before they wear them.

Probably more housework LOL

I really like Kohls!

Shopping trip

So as you can see I finally got a header. I'm super excited. Thank God for my husband I never would of gotten one if it was up to me. I really envy people who can make really cool things on the computer. My hubby makes really nice webpages he made a family page for us, (it needs to be updated but still cool nonetheless). Check it out www.simonds.me Next he gets to help me make a webpage for my girlscout troop LOL.

Ok enough about my blog page.

Yesterday I took the girls out clothes shopping for school. My younger one didn't really need anything since she gets all her sisters handmedowns, and she just got lots of new outfits from her B-day. But anyway my older daughter needs a whole new wardrobe she has grown up so much in the last couple of months. So off to the store we go.

This was the first year that K wanted to pick out her own clothes. Usually she is just happy with whatever I picked out. Not this year she was so excited to see something that she liked. "mom look at this, this is cool all the older girls wear things like this". Now she doesn't mean high school girls with all their stuff hanging out she means like the cool 5th graders. LOL. The joy on her face was priceless. Shes really into trendy this year, peace signs, lots of color, skinny jeans, tall boots, anything from Justice ( a clothing store not sure if they are everywhere). It was really fun shopping this year. We got LOTS of stuff and got really good deals :) Of course there was a couple of things in there for S too.

SO now we go home with all of our goods. On the ride home she is totally excited to show her dad her buys. So right after dinner she put on a "runway show" It was super cute. S got in on it to showing off her clothes that she got for her B-day. My hubby and I had to sit on the couch and watch the show. She strutted her stuff and worked it. LOL I remember how exciting it was to do the same exact thing when I was her age. Just shear joy of showing off her finds. It made me realize that very soon she won't want me to go shopping with her, she'll just ask for the credit card. So I enjoyed every second of out outing and can't wait to do it again soon. Take every second you can with kids before you know it they will be grown and we will have no one to go shopping with.

This weeks Tuesday Three is simple... Not Long, No Stories, Just Basic!
Stories are always Welcomed though!!! I love them!

Every woman, okay maybe not every woman, but 99.999% of woman are "Anul" [as me and my mother call it] about certain things happening around the house. Maybe it's Laundry piled up, or Towels on the floor, or maybe it's The Toliet Paper goes upwards, not Down-wards like my mother says...
Share three things that maybe your kids, your better half, or maybe you do it that drives you BONKERS!!!!
In other words, share your top three pet peeves around the house

1. When my husband and my kids put their clothes on the top of the hamper instead of inside. I mean really is it that hard to lift the top and drop the clothes in... So they end up all over the floor, thats the point of a hamper to hide the dirty clothes.

2. The cupboards need to be closed!! ALways!!!!!! I can always tell what my hubby is getting because i can follow the trail of open doors on the cupboards. Not sure why this bothers me so much but it drives me nuts!!!

3. Shoes, my girls have lots of pairs of shoes, boots, flip flops, sneakers, and everything in between. When we come in the house there is a place to put them behind the door. But they NEVER make it there not sure how but they end up all over the house. So when its time to go out they can't find any shoes that match!!! It is SO frustrating because if they just put them where they go as soon as they take them off we would never have that problem So we are working on this!!!!

So come on people you know you all have household pet peeves lets hear them :)

off switch?

I am really tired but just cannot sleep tonight!! I hate when my mind is going a mile a minute when it should be turning off so I can sleep.

I had a really fun day out a friends boat today! Its always fun hanging out with people you really get a long with. It also doesn't hurt that our hubbys get a long!! We had a big birthday party this weekend for my youngest daughter, it was a blast. ALL of our favorite people were there (except for my daughters fav. friend who was on vaca., we missed him!) It was great day not to hot or cold, good food, good conversation, I think everyone had a good time. After the kids went to bed the party continued, it was really nice. We had 14 people sleep at my house there were people everywhere. Out of town family, friends, and local friends(LOL)

Then of course comes all the cleanup :( I was so beat on Sun the day after the party. Then we were out today, then an argument with my husband!! GRRR sometimes man I tell ya! Anyways all of this stuff must be the reason I can't turn my brain off.

Its bouncing about things i need to do and other things that are going on like
laundry
clean the house
upload pics
trying to redesign my blog
drama i have to deal with!!!!! (I am NOT a fan of drama) and i feel like lately its been more and more, with friends, and home, and everything in b/w.
Oh man i could go on but do you really care? I just wish i had a turn off switch!!!!!!

Well I am off to try to read and hope that that does it and I can sleep. i apologize for the rambling tonight.
